What is a WOD?

“WOD” means Workout of the Day. Each day a new workout is written and everyone will participate in that particular workout. Since CrossFit is constantly varied, every athlete is always wondering what tomorrow’s WOD will be.

Who can join? Is Stone Hill CrossFit only for highly conditioned individuals?

Stone Hill CrossFit is for everyone! CrossFit offers benefit if you are an elite athlete or just wanting to get in better shape, businessman or stay at home mom, college student or retiree. Stone Hill CrossFit programing is always scalable, this means every athlete regardless of their level of fitness can participate and face appropriate challenges. Stone Hill CrossFit WODs are motivating for all.

What should I expect for my first time at Stone Hill CrossFit?

Your first workout at Stone Hill CrossFit will be a fun and challenging experience. As you enter the gym you will be greeted by our coaches and given specific instruction on the WOD for the day. The coaches will lead the class in a warm-up as well as teaching the standards for the particular movements. Once the class is ready, you will hear, “3, 2, 1… Go!” That is when the workout begins. At Stone Hill CrossFit coaches instruct athletes individually within small groups and athletes push themselves and encourage others to achieve new levels fitness.

How many times do you recommend I work out per week?

In the beginning, we recommend at least three times per week. This will allow your body to adjust to the demands of CrossFit while also allowing it to rest as needed.

How many people are in a class?

We limit our classes by using an online booking system so that there is always one coach with a maximum of 10 athletes. We take pride in making sure everyone moves efficiently and get lots of attention. This small class ratio promotes quality coaching and strong community.

How long does a class last?

Stone Hill CrossFit classes last 1 hour.

Do I workout on my own or do I have a trainer?

You will always have a trainer. Our trainers are registered CrossFit coaches skilled in coaching you to move safely and efficiently with even the most challenging WOD.

How is Stone Hill CrossFit different than other gyms?

You are not just a face at Stone Hill CrossFit. You will never just come in and do a workout and then leave unnoticed. You will know our coaches and they will know you. You are not joining a gym, you are part of a community.

I have heard you can get hurt doing CrossFit. Is this true?

There are risks with any exercise program. However, at Stone Hill CrossFit we will never push you to do something without first making sure that you can do it safely. We provide detailed movement instruction for everything that you will do in the workouts. This minimizes risk and takes advantage of safety while making you stronger for each new challenge.

How much does the membership cost?

Stone Hill CrossFit membership ranges from 85 JOD to 130 JOD per month depending on the number of months you sign up for.

When are the classes offered?

We offer classes both morning, afternoon, and evening, Sunday – Thursday. We also offer afternoon classes on Saturday. Friday we are closed. For specific WOD times see our Schedule.
